What We Will Miss about Illinois

We are getting ready to leave Illinois, but we will miss the wildlife! From eagles, to deer, we’ve seen it all in Illinois. It’s very common to see deer, eagles, and even wild turkey. We see deer almost every time we go out, and they let us get close enough for pictures in the car. We see a lot more Doe then we do Bucks. There is an abnormally large amount of deer this year, if you don’t see a deer you might see some deer prints in the mud/snow so you know they’ve been around. We’ve seen tons of geese and birds in general. Illinois has been the home of the wildlife this year! Where we live, it’s very rural and there are corn fields everywhere. Since it’s winter they’ve all been cut down so it’s just a big open field everywhere. We think that may have something to do with how much wildlife we see. It also makes it VERY windy.

We also have been fortunate to see a lot of beautiful sunsets where we live. From out back patio, we can see so many beautiful colors in the sky almost every night.

There are a lot of things we’ll miss, and other people who live here might take it for granted. On the other hand, we won’t miss the cold weather, wind that blows you around, slippery ice, having to drive 20 minutes to get to stores, and the unpredictable weather! But, we are happy to have had the opportunity to slow down a bit and just really enjoy nature and our surroundings!

One of our favorite sunsets that we were able to get a picture of
A beautiful cotton candy colored sunset through the trees
The clicking of the camera caught their attention but they went right back to eating
Eagle hunting in the late afternoon, it was swooping close to the water
